Wisconsin State Representatives

Included are references to Project Vote Smart's 2004 National Political Awareness Test. This lets all voters know where their representatives stand on the issues of importance to all citizens. If your representative took the test and let his/her constituents know where s/he stood, thank them for doing so.

However, many politicians refuse to answer the questions in the solicitation because they don't want voters knowing where they stand on the issues! They like being able to fudge and evade when being asked about an issue, and having it on record and posted on the web is the last thing they want. Especially when it can be compared to their voting record while in session.

If your representative did not take the test, call him or her and ask that they do so immediately. If you are going to vote for them, you want to know what you are voting for.

Grading System: Each politician received grades from A+ through F, based solely on what they "did" for reform. Not what they said they'd do. Not the rhetoric they spout, and not whether they are nice people. But based solely on how they voted or whether they sponsored a reform bill or moved reform forward. Of course they may be great in other areas of concern, but they didn't cut it here. And they may be great in these other areas because they get plenty of campaign cash from the interests you agree with. But that doesn't make them great, it just makes them manipulable by the moneyed interests.

The Heroes - Have supported all reforms

The Worst of the Bunch - Have opposed all reforms

The Embarrassments - Have supported some, but not all political reforms
