With billions of
dollars to his name and inherent appeal across
party lines, New York City Mayor Michael

On
immigration

That could either be a victory or
a loss, depending on which side you supported. I
supported both sides, at one time or the other.
Trying to be sensitive to the plight of Mexicans
that want to leave their country for a better
life, and pragmatic about the security and
employment problems it creates for Americans,
has been difficult. Especially as the terrorism
issue heats up and they start crossing the
porous border to the south. At this point I'd

under control. Let's fight for more legal
immigration but block the illegal flow, and
especially levy heavy fines against the
offending corporations.
Kohl and Feingold voted FOR the
bill that failed, and under the current bill
language I'm one of those who supported its
failure. Perhaps they can keep working on it
improve it and it might be more acceptable.
In any event I wish that money
weren't changing hands and we'd get a bill that
was in the best interest of the country.
